Antmusic*

The last 5 days have been spent largely unplugged.
We went away where there was no internet and no phone and it was lovely.

We were going to take our music player with us, but we forgot that, so no music either. (We afforded ourselves one luxury and took our coffee machine)

There was lots of reading and walking and sleeping and eating.
A lovely time to decompress and get ready for Blogtoberfest!

and do us all a favour

Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head*

We arrived home from our little break away...

in the middle of a fantastic storm late yesterday afternoon...

to find it was raining inside our house!

The State Emergency Service (SES) came last night and fixed our problem which was a broken tile, then the plumber came today and replaced the tile and had a look at the damage inside the roof.

The little cat got so scared by all the kerfuffle that she ended up ... well UP the chimney (which is a new hiding place!)

In this one she is running away out of the chimney taking with her all the dirt and ash!
(Apologies for the blurry pictures, it was all a bit frantic, but like a good blogger, I tried to snap a photo!)

A memorable 24 hours indeed!

Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Cryin's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothin's worryin' me

Celebration*

Oops! Where have the days gone!

I was trying to get in practice for Blogtoberfest by posting more often, but the days have flown by.

Happily, they have flown toward my week off.

Even though I lost my job in June, I have been working in a casual job and have not had time off, so I am really looking forward to this week off.

My lovely and I are off to Tootgarook in the morning.

We are off to spend some time at our friend's holiday house relaxing, reading, beach, exercising, hot springs, dinner with friends. I can't wait to get there!!

See you when I get back.

Celebrate good times
come on ! - Let's celebrate
There's a party going on right here
a celebration to last throughout the years.
So bring your good times and your laughter
too
we're gonna celebrate your party with you !

Play Like a Girl*

Tonight I have been playing with my blog, giving it a facelift for spring!

Ever since I discovered templates and learnt how to download them - thanks my honey :) it's like rearranging the furniture in a room. I love it!

I will live with this for a while and see how it feels and who knows, maybe it will stay, maybe not...

You play like a girl.
"You can't be in my band.
You can't play like a man.
But there's one thing that you can do.
Teach us to play like you."

It's Nice To Be Alive*

After more than a week of sickness, today, I went for a walk in between rain showers and realised I am really feeling better.

I can't wait to get back to work and being more active. This feels great!

We have had some perfect Melbourne - 4 seasons in one day - weather this week, and it has been so lovely. After 10+ years of drought the weather is doing things of old!

I've been doing lots of thinking about my study which has also been good. I have felt a little pre-contemplative about doing any study since we moved, but the last few days I have started to organise my space and do some reading. I am struggling with seeing a really clear path ahead, but it is slowly becoming clearer.

I am heading toward the mountain, ready to ascend and see what lies ahead.

It feels like time to really get on top of evaluation and it's culture.

I am also gearing up for Blogtoberfest by trying to post more often. I plan to be telling you heaps more on my special subject during this time ...

Chill out,
It’s alright
kiss me,
It’s nice to be alive

Getting Better*

It's been a week of sickness this week. I went the whole of winter without any sign of cough or cold and now that spring is here, I have been in bed for four days with varying cold and assorted virus symptoms.

Today I was out of bed all day.
YAY! I am on the mend finally!

This has derailed my plans for getting my life together but c'est la vie. Another week will pass without establishing a routine. I hope to return to work tomorrow and have my weekly dose of the Collingwood Children's Farm - which I am loving.

Meanwhile I enjoy my view from the couch and wait for news about jobs...

Getting so much better all the time!

It's getting better all the time

Better, better, better.
It's getting better all the time
Better, better, better.

Wake Me Up When September Ends*

Spring has sprung here in the Southern Hemisphere. Well really we have had a lot of spring weather during August and it has been lovely.

There are lots of newborns at the farm!

August was the first month this year that I have not posted at all!

I cannot seem to find a routine around things at the moment. I have been doing some work, some job hunting, some bike riding, a little swimming, a lot of reading and very little computer.

I would like to add, more seeing friends, more study and more blogging.

Let's see what happens...

ring out the bells again
like we did when spring began
wake me up when September ends

here comes the rain again

falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

as my memory rests

but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when September ends
