Once again my poor little blog has been neglected since this year began. I ahve been doing lots of shift work and that has thrown me out of whack a little. I have three shifts left before I begin my full time 9 - 5 job that I am very much looking forward to.
Happy New Year everybody. I hope this year is fantastic. Which brings me to the point of this post...
It's time for word of the year!
You may have guessed what mine is, but I would like to take a moment to reflect on last year's word which was Acceptance
2011 was my first year choosing a guiding
word for the year and in many ways, my chosen word was prophetic. I chose this word in relation to continuing to accept my illness and in doing so, make my life a whole lot more liveable and fun.
From the list of seven areas I was striving for acceptance in, I am well on the way with most of them and as a result I have ended up with more
fun,
family,
clarity,
patience,
health,
peace,
tolerance,
love and
happiness! A good result I would say.
I bought myself a bracelet to remind me of my word, and interestingly on the 13th Dec, it fell off my arm while I was walking. Perhaps a sign!
Moving forward to 2012, an apparently auspicious year, when the world may end!?!, I am making plans to have a fantastic year. It is for this reason I have chosen my word for the year ...
CONFIDENT
It came to me the other day when i was out riding.
I love riding and get this fantastic feeling of confidence and that all is right with the world when I am out there riding along. I realised I wanted to try and translate this feeling into other areas of my life - hence ...
CONFIDENT
At first I thought the word was confidence, but then I realised that I wanted my word to reflect an outcome, thus an adjective, not a noun.
So onward into 2012. I will become increasingly CONFIDENT in the areas of:
self
relationship
friends
work
family
change
planning
This will lead me to experience increased:
confidence
happiness
love
fulfillment
contentment
peace
joy
I'll drink to that!
I have confidence in confidence alone
Besides which you see I have confidence in me!
